EVENTS: Sierra Nevada World Music Festival

I had the opportunity and privilege of taking my gear into Sierra Nevada World Music Festival for the last two years. On top of some stage shots of some of the artists, I also took this opportunity to people watch and politely ask beautiful people for their portrait. It had to be done quick, of course, but I think the thrill of having to think fast after asking for permission, was essential for my own personal growth. What light is available? Is there shade in case it's direct sunlight overhead? What are my settings? What composition do I want? And lastly, did I get the shot? The act of having mini portrait sessions with strangers in an environment where you shoot fast and go, actually helped me slow down and think about the technical part. It's nerve wrecking and exciting at the same time for both the photographer and model.
